We all know how important Flipkart has become in our daily lives, when we need to buy stuffs online. So, I was interested in reading this book, to learn how everything started.

I was greatly inspired by the way Flipkart was started by its founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal. The vision of Sachin, along with his deep understanding of the application of technology in day to day lives of people, mingled with Binny Bansal's efficiency of handling the operations to keep the company running smoothly, it is what made Flipkart so big from just a small startup, that they had started in a flat. Of course, later on things about Sachin and Binny changed, but it was their relentlessness in the initial years that kept the company going. It is why I recommend this book to everyone who is thinking of starting any kind of business or startup.

This book explains all about how Flipkart was created, starting from how it went through all kinds of struggles to get suppliers and funding, to how brands started pursuading Flipkart to sell their products and then to the point of time when Walmart acquired Flipkart. But it doesn't only talk about Flipkart. In the parallel, it tells you the story of the rise of the startup culture, internet entrepreneurship, and e-commerce in India, and also explains how Flipkart had a big role to play in everything. While reading this, you might get a smell of the rising startup culture of India in the background.

A small thing that I didn't like about this book was that it has lots and lots of information about the events that occured in Flipkart. There were so many characters involved, so many events, and so much of information that many times I felt like forgetting things that I read while moving ahead. But, we can't really blame the author because Flipkart was growing so fast that it must have been very difficult to gather so much data and articulate them so systematically.
